Want to venture into the world of boating but don’t know where to start? Already own a boat and want to hone your on-the-water skills? Simply looking for a lively way to spend your Saturday afternoon? Then come on out Saturday, June 24th to the Get Out & Boat Fest on South Lake Union!

At the Get Out & Boat Fest:

Enjoy FREE 45-minute power and sailboat rides around Lake Union and experience the thrill of gliding across the water.

Learn new skills at docking, anchoring, technology, rigging and knot-tying clinics with the guidance of industry professionals.

Attend boating seminars offered by marine experts that will cover topics such as how to buy a boat and cruising and fishing in the San Juan Islands.

Stroll the docks and visit booths to learn what it takes to get into boating, from how to finance and insure a boat to alternative means of getting on the water such as chartering and boat share programs. Also visit the WA State Boating Program and pick up tips to enjoy the water safely.

This entirely FREE family-friendly event is great for the kids, who can join the Center for Wooden Boats for toy boat building while listening to live music and enjoying treats from local food carts.
